How to Restore Your Interior Leather At Home

Updated: Aug 31, 2019

Before i started my detailing business I didn't have the expensive leather restoring products but my cars interior leather was deteriorating so I came up with simple Steps to restore your leather at home and get professional results like how I did.

Before we begin I want to tell you what you shouldn't do with your leather. My First Cleaning leather mistake was using household cleaning products even if it's diluted. The chemicals in such a cleaner will dry out the leather, causing it to crack and even tear. It can also strip the protective coating, which will cause fading and open the leather up to staining. Avoid contact between certain cleaners and other parts of the car. Depending on the chemical and the part of the car, the chemical can cause damage.

To make Leather Cleaner at home you need 1/2 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup vinegar mixed into a spray bottle, you will want to spray this directly on to the stain and let it sit for at least 5 minutes then wipe.

  3. Apply Leather Conditioner

  4. Let Dry, We recommend 12 hours in a Shady spot

  5. Use a Micro-fiber cloth in circular motions and take care to wipe up excess conditioner.

After these Simple steps your Leather should be a lot better condition you would want repeat this process every 3 months to maintain your leather.A well taken car of interior makes a huge difference not only to your cars feel but the value also increase with a good interior.
